PSBK Complex

Padepokan Seni Bagong Kussudiardja is a large arts complex in Bantul, Yogyakarta, built and founded by the late Bagong Kussudiardja in 1978.  It is a cultural landmark in the Indonesian arts community through previous achievements as an informal school in the arts before the death of the founder.

The 5,000 square-meter complex is located in a small village in Bantul county, just 15 minutes south from the center of Yogyakarta and 2 kilometers north of the renowned craft villages of Kasongan (center of Indonesian pottery industry) and Krebet (wayang kulit). Just off the main southern Ring Road that encircles Yogyakarta, the area is home to a number of contemporary and traditional artists seeking a natural environment near the city.

Situated near a river and extensive gardens, the unique art place of various studios and offices have transformed into an art complex with multi-purpose capacities that accommodate creation and presentation.

The art complex also serves as permanent studios for four established performing arts groups:  Kua Etnika, Sinten Remen, Teater Gandrik and PLT (Pusat Latihan Tari)
